@100 Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with how reliable or unreliable some foreign sources are, which is why I sought out 3 different ones rather than just one.

Yes, they purchased Quof's TL and edited it. About Melty's Quest, it's slightly different since they updated their game's content later on.

@104 True. It was already adult only before the update, which is why the dev went ahead and uncensored everything with his update.

Basically MG started going into Steam.
Steam H patch for Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome, paid DLC to upgrade Eden into it's H version (there was a price difference originally), and Evenicle.
Evenicle shows that Steam is willing to accept relatively extreme H-games. It's not Euphoria or Maggots Baits, but arguably some of the content is as extreme as Beat Blades Haruka.

#105 Evenicle has some relatively extreme content, but it's nothing too much worse than Melty's or Harem Guid, so I'm not too surprised. I don't think it's as bad as BBH, though. I think some of Steam's payment processors might have issues with the bestiality in that one. Though this does mean that we can look forward to seeing Sengoku Rance on Steam, I suppose.

@106 With Meltys or Harem Guild, you could claim Steam just didn't notice some small dev pushing the envelope. With Evenicle though, MG wouldn't have put it on Steam unless they were mostly certain Steam was okay with it.

Though this does mean that we can look forward to seeing Sengoku Rance on Steam, I suppose.MG will probably still be reluctant to release Rance on there, or at least not until the waters have been tested some more. Evenicle has some rape but it's not the focus at all, whereas the main focus in the Rance series is rape, with the protagonist being a rapist. These things need to be eased into.Last modified on 2018-10-10 at 17:32

#108 They'd probably try to release 6 first, but I can't see too big of a problem with Sengoku. Then again, what do I know? Maybe Evenicle is the limit as far as MangaGamer goes.
On a semi-related note, I wonder how well Sengoku would sell, since most people have already played it and the community seems content to lap up TakaJun's mediocre translations.
Also, I wonder if GIGA will finally allow a release of an English 18+ version of Baldr Sky, since I think Steam was a major sticking point for them and most of the H-scenes are pretty vanilla. I won't hold my breath, though, since GIGA seems to be allergic to good decision-making.

@108 There is Harem Guild which is a outright rape nukige and how there still is a substantial amount of rape in Evenicle even if it's villain driven rather than protagonist driven (if I had to give a percentage, maybe 20%). I don't think Rance is an issue because of that (in practice, modern Rance games tend to be about 50% consensual and 50% nonconsensual)
Rance VI's content isn't a huge deal anymore, though it might be tricky since MG's Rance VI release also came with 5D. I guess 5D could just be free DLC for Rance VI's steam page, but that's still and odd way to go about things. Putting them in separate Steam Store pages and making 5Ds free while VI is the normal price doesn't seem like an option either since 5D isn't freeware in Japan.
Sengoku Rance is probably okay too. The only conceivable sticking point may be the Kou rape scene but that might be fine by Steam standards since they've accepted Gurigura's H-scenes in Evenicle.
@109 Baldr Sky getting an 18+ release would resolve the original event that broke the camel's back for me when it comes to Sekai, but I admittedly still wouldn't buy it because of all of the fuck ups Sekai has done since then.
I personally think Sengoku will sell decently because of the novelty. MG doesn't really need a lot of sales to be satisfied. Even 1k extra sales would be more than enough to justify putting it on Steam.Last modified on 2018-10-10 at 18:52

There is Harem Guild which is a outright rape nukigeCan you call it rape (by deception) if the heroine already fall in the first scene?! I'd at least not call it "outright". Also I'd say being protagonist driven makes a significant difference. I don't think that Rance is not an issue because of that.
Rather Steam is now simply as open as a... er, I am not good/not knowledgeable about which kind of prostitute is the most slutty, sorry~ (mayhaps those celebrities which desperately want scandals to the point where they even encourage the new/internet generation? Yeah, such exist, forgot though who it was who indeed stated that, luckily I forgot)

#110 There are games on Steam that can only be bought in a bundle (Half Life: Source comes to mind) so it certainly wouldn't be impossible, even without DLC.
I was wondering how well Sengoku would sell in general, not necessarily just on Steam. It'll probably sell well, since there's a lot of people that'll buy Rance titles just to support the series, and there are people that haven't played SR yet; but I wonder whether it'll match up to the sales numbers of 5D/VI or not.
